• Inspirational.

"Thank you very much for all you are doing to uplift women.

I am one of the people who was in the Laamiga project. I had one of the best mentors. We had Zoom calls during Covid and my mentor would use her lunch time break to meet me in Central London. She inspired me as a person and she was able to get the the best out of me.

I was able to do my CV and I have been working in health and social care for the last one and a half years.

Because of the interview skills I learnt at Laamiga I went for an interview last week and was shortlisted. I got a new job to work in a Special Needs school. I am now humbled to join the new Discover-Me project as I continue to discover more about myself. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity."

  • Goals.

“My mentor has supported and encouraged me throughout the past year. She has helped me with getting me ready to start looking for employment by preparing interview answers, structuring my supporting information for a prospective administration roles in the NHS and helping me to update my CV on a regular basis. She understands that everyone’s life progression is different and never judges me if it takes me longer to complete tasks or goals.”

  • Focus.

“When I first started mentoring, I was in a mixed mind about what it was I wanted to focus on and the route I wanted to take, career wise. But from the very first meeting with my Mentor, I felt listened to, welcomed and understood.

The mentoring sessions always allowed me to open my eyes into what it is I truly want to do. Each session helped me to step out of my comfort zone, realise who I am as an individual as well as come to an understanding into the different routes I can take.

I have loved and enjoyed being mentored by my Mentor and having another lovely partner who also had the chance to develop of her own knowledge and skills during our weekly sessions.”
